Millersville, Pa. – The Millersville women’s swimming team has schedule is annual summer swim camp for July 6-10 and July 13-17.
The camp will take place at Pucillo Natatorium on the campus of Millersville University and will run daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All campers will receive a Marauder swim camp T-shirt and swim cap upon leaving the camp and will have the opportunity to compete in a swim meet on the final day of camp. Campers will also be able to have lunch at the dining hall located on campus.
All Campers will be videotaped using the Power Camera underwater camera and will receive a personalized CD and a skills and drills sheet. The camp includes both in pool and classroom instruction.
Space in the camp is limited, as Coach Kyle Almoney prefers there to be a swimmer to instructor ratio of 6:1.
Almoney has compiled a 17-8 dual meet record along with three consecutive winning seasons and top ten finishes in the PSAC conference the last two of the last three years. In 2005–2006 the women’s swim program to their first undefeated season in school history, along the way rewriting the record board several times. His teams have also received Academic All-America honors from 2006-2009.
As a swimmer, Almoney was PIAA State Champion in the 100 butterfly in 1997 as well as multiple time All-America in high school. Almoney attended West Chester University where he majored in communications studies. During his time there, he was a 25 time All-American and PSAC Rookie of the Year.
