Millersville, Pa. - Seniors Jarrett Hostetter and Jeremy Brooks starred for the Millersville wrestling team on senior night at Pucillo Gymnasium. But the Marauders fell short in its efforts to score a team victory, as Kutztown rolled, 39-9.

Millersville (3-11-1), short-handed all season because of a rash of injuries, fell behind 18-0 early after two forfeits and a pin at 125. Already without Justin Fegley (133), Mike Greck (141) and Ray Bennett (197), the Marauders struggled for points all evening. To make matters worse, 184-pound Jason Foor went down with an leg injury in the second period of his bout against Zach Kisslinger and was forced to default.

The senior teammates Hostetter and Brooks made the most of senior night, though, totaling Millersville's only nine points.

The 157-pound Hostetter put on a clinic in his final home dual, scoring a quick takedown and pin at 1:42 to give Millersville its first points of the night. The win improved Hostetter to 18-5 and moved his career win total to 95.

Brooks, competing for the first time since Dec. 5., delivered on senior night as well. Wrestling on a not-quite-100-percent right knee, he gutted out an 8-7 decision of Ricky Pena. Brooks was nearly caught in a pin in the first period but picked up two points with a reversal. Still, he trailed 6-4 in the third period. Brooks had choice and chose down. He promptly escaped and scored a takedown to take the lead. Pena managed an escape, but Brooks had 2:51 of riding time built up, giving him the 8-7 win.

Kutztown improved to 14-3 with the victory.

Tuesday's dual will be broadcast on Comcast channels in Berks, Lancaster and Lebanon counties and Blue Ridge Cable Channel 11 on Feb. 7 at 8 p.m. and on Feb. 14.
