Omaha, Neb. - Few Millersville wrestlers can compare accomplishments with Jarrett Hostetter, but the redshirt senior's outstanding career came to a close Friday morning at the NCAA Championships with a loss to Oregon's States Keegan Davis.

Hostetter, a three-time national qualifier, fell in the third consolation round after losing his first match and winning his second Thursday. Davis, winner of 34 matches this year, scored three late points in the third period to earn a 5-2 decision.

Neither wrestler managed a point in the first period, and Davis, starting the second in the down position, escaped for the match's first point. He then scored a takedown to take a 3-0 lead. Hostetter escaped before the end of the period to draw within two.

Hostetter escaped out of the down position to open the third period, cutting Davis' advantage to 3-2. But Davis hit a takedown at then picked up a stall warning point against Hostetter to move on top for good.

With a 1-2 record at the NCAA Championships, Hostetter comes up just short of All-American status, but he finishes with 101 career wins, more than all but six wrestlers in the history of Millersville. He totaled 24 wins in 2009-10, giving him three season of at least 20 wins.
