Kristie Testa and
Krista Bupp played a key role in the program's return to the national rankings, and on Wednesday, both became the first Marauders in 10 years to be named All-America. Freshman
Melissa McCarthy was also named to the womensfieldhockey.com All-Rookie Team.
Testa, the team's leading scorer in each of the last two seasons, was named to the Longstreth / NFHCA Division II All-America Second Team. The NFHCA squad is voted on by coaches nationwide, and Testa is Millersville's first NFHCA All-American since Ini Hazatones earned first team mention in 1999. She is the 20th player in school history to be honored by the NFHCA and the just the 12th since the program made the move to Division II in 1992.
Testa totaled 22 points this season with 10 goals and two assists. She also led the team with three game-winning goals.
Bupp, a standout on defense and an All-PSAC East First Team pick, was recognized as a first team All-American by womensfieldhockey.com. She was just one of 16 players in the entire nation to land first team honors. Bupp is the first Marauder to be recognized as an All-American by womensfieldhockey.com. She impressed her peers with her play despite playing in just 14 of the team's 19 games because of a foot injury. She returned from the injury and finished the season with five goals and an assist. Two of her scores came on penalty strokes.
McCarthy made an immediate impact in her first year with the program. The freshman was named All-PSAC East Second Team already, and was one of 16 newcomers to be selected to the womensfieldhockey.com All-Rookie Team. McCarthy started all 19 games and totaled four goals and assist.
As a team, the Marauders finished 9-10 overall, producing the most wins since 1999.
