Millersville, Pa. - The 2009 All-PSAC teams and awards were announced Wednesday, and juniors
Liz Weekley and
Lindsay Keeley represented the Millersville women's lacrosse team by earning All-PSAC Eastern Division Second Team honors.
Weekley, a two-time PSAC East Athlete of the Week during the season and a first team selection in 2008, earned her second career honor as a midfielder. Keeley, a defender, made her first appearance as an all-conference honoree.
Weekley led the Marauders with 67 points on 44 goals and 23 assists. Her point total ranked fifth best in school history and her goal and assist marks also placed her among the all-time single season leaders. Weekley totaled a career-high nine points on two occasions and also scored seven goals once.
Through three seasons, Weekley ranks fourth on Millersville's career goals list with 140 and trails Cherie Meiklejohn by just 34. She also needs just 39 points to become the school's all-time leader.
Keeley did not register any points during the season, but was gained the respect of the PSAC coaches by leading the Millersville defensive unit. Keeley forced 16 turnovers, won 13 draw controls and recorded 24 ground balls. She was instrumental in helping the Marauders hold opponents to fewer than 10 goals six times.
Millersville, under the direction of Barb Waltman, has placed at least two players on the all-conference team each year since 1996.
