Millersville, Pa. — Janelle Mrakovich picked up her second postseason honor Thursday afternoon when she was named to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II All-Atlantic Region First Team.
Mrakovich was voted to the team in the utility/non-pitcher position after setting a career-high in hits and helping lead the Marauders to 24 wins. The senior from Middletown, Pa. was also selected to the 2008 All-Atlantic Region First Team.
The hard-hitting designated player, who also saw time at first base and in the circle, led Millersville with 56 hits and also topped the team in batting average (.378) and RBIs (28). The Marauder veteran compiled a .987 fielding percentage, converting 155-of-157 chances.
Mrakovich racked up a season-high five RBIs in a win over Philadelphia on March 9 and had a 4-RBI game, including a home run, in a win over Columbia Union on March 15. She compiled 10 home runs, 79 RBIs, and a .332 batting average during her 3-year MU career. She also amassed 17 wins and 163 strikeouts in 262.1 innings of work as a pitcher.
