Jon Shehan has announced that the program will host the 2009 Marauder Baseball Fall Clinic on Oct. 17-18. The clinic is for high school players.
The clinic will take place on the campus of Millersville University at the state-of-the-art baseball stadium and will also include work in batting cages and video sessions. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 17 and will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days.
The goal of the clinic is to enhance a player's understanding and feel for baseball fundamentals. Millersville philosophies on pitching, catching, hitting, baseball running and much more will be presented along with drill sets that will provide instant feedback. Video analysis will be completed with each hitter and pitcher as well.
Cost for each session is $80.00. It is required of those attending to fill out the
camp brochure and mail it to Shehan.
Shehan will serve as the director of the clinic. He his third year as head coach at Millersville and was named PSAC East Coach of the Year in 2008 after leading the club to its first division title in eight years. He also helped Millersville to its first winning record in seven years. Shehan also helped Derek Kline become the first Marauder to be selected in the MLB First-Year Player Draft since 2000.
Also working the clinic will be assistant coach Ryan Giblin, who was a three-time All-PSAC selection at shorstop at Mansfield. Lampeter-Strasburg Head Coach Todd Garber will also serve as an instructor. Garber has coached guided his teams to six section championships and a PIAA Championship in 2004.
