Bloomsburg, Pa. - With just over 14 minutes remaining in Saturday's PSAC East contest, Millersville held a lead over Bloomsburg and appeared to be headed toward a season sweep of the Huskies. Bloomsburg outscored the Marauders 31-17 the rest of the way, though, for a 66-54 win--their fourth in a row.

The Huskies posted 39 points to Millersville's 26 in the second period. Millersville's offense struggled to score when it needed to the most, shooting 9-of-35 from the field and 1-of-10 from 3-point range. Bloomsburg, meanwhile, knocked down 13-of-24 shots in the final 20 minutes.

Millersville held a slight 28-27 lead at the half, and extended it to as many as six early in the second on an Alen Ahmetovic lay-up. Leading 37-32 with 15 minutes left, Millersville missed nine of their next 10 shots, and Bloomsburg raced to an eight-point lead in a seven-minute span.

The Marauders couldn't recover, and the Huskies continued to build their lead, pushing it to 62-48 in the final minutes.

The win was crucial for Bloomsburg (12-12, 6-6 PSAC East), which not only evened its overall record but stayed eligible for the PSAC Tournament. The Marauders dropped to 8-17 overall and 3-9 in the PSAC East with the loss, and now they must win each of their final two games to avoid posting the most single-season losses in school history.

Mike Seibert led Millersville with 14 points, but only three came in the second half. He hoisted up 13 3-pointers, making three. Ahmetovic added 10 points and seven rebounds.

The Marauders travel to East Stroudsburg Wednesday. Game time is 8 p.m.
