Mechanicsburg, Pa. – Arielle Walbert shattered her season-best time in the 1,650-yard freestyle as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Swimming Championships came to a close Sunday. Millersville finished in 12th place with 69 points.
Walbert placed 19th in the 1,650 free with a time of 18:24.57, beating her previous personal record by 20 seconds. West Chester's Danielle Ierley won the event with an NCAA-qualifying time of 17:13.10.
Sarah Bernhardt landed 13th place in the 100-yard freestyle in 53.74 seconds. Bernhardt was just .10 seconds shy of tying the school record she set earlier this season. Jackie Borkowski from West Chester won the 100 free with an NCAA time of 50.21 seconds.
In the 200-yard backstroke, Kelsie Jones came in 21st place in the preliminary round with a time of 2:14.34 but came up short in the finals. Amie Mowery placed 31st in the preliminary round of the 200-yard butterfly in 2:24.72 but did not advance to the final round.
The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Breann Martinez, Mowery, Jones, and Bernhardt came in 12th place with a time of 3:46.78. The 400 free relay team from West Chester won with a national-qualifying time of 3:26.18, over three seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.
The PSAC's marked the end of the season for the Marauder women's swim team. The squad finished with an overall dual record of 3-2.
