Rawling/ABCA Golden Glove Winners
Millersville, Pa. - Senior pitcher Forrest Mengle was one of just 18 players in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region to be named a winner of a Rawling/ABCA Atlantic Region Golden Glove Award.
Mengle earned a spot on the second team, becoming the second Millersville player in the last three years to earn the prestigious defensive honor. The teams are voted on by the region's coaches.
Mengle did not commit an error over the last two seasons, totaling 24 chances. In 2010, he was among the pitching leaders with 13 assists. Shippensburg's Jimmy Miller, who also played first base, was selected as the first team pitcher.
During his senior season, Mengle won three games, totaled four complete games and 56.0 innings pitched. He was also named All-PSAC East Second Team.
