Millersville, Pa. – Millersville field hockey’s sophomore goalkeeper
Sara Dickinson was named to ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA All-Academic College Division District 2 Third Team At-Large, which includes schools from Divisions II and III.
The at-large category includes student-athletes in field hockey, golf, lacrosse, swimming and diving, tennis, and wrestling. Nominees must be at least a sophomore, be a starter or key reserve on the squad, and have a minimum 3.30 grade point average.
Under the direction of second-year head coach
Shelly Behrens, Dickinson has maintained a 4.0 GPA every semester at Millersville while majoring in psychology.
Dickinson was only one of four sophomores in District 2 to be honored. During the 2009 field hockey season she recorded 107 saves for a .764 save percentage. Dickinson registered three shutouts and held a 1.90 goals against average, helping her team finish the year ranked No. 10 in Division II.
In addition to her all-academic accolades, she is also a two-time Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Scholar Athlete.
