Millersville, Pa. - Millersville baseball's Ryan Chesler is proving that his .324 batting average and .397 during the 2010 season was no fluke. And his performance in this summer's KIT League is letting PSAC opponents know they better start taking notice.
The young Marauder catcher recently represented the Marion Bobcats of the KIT League in its annual all-star game. The best of the KIT League squared off against the top players from the Tennessee Summer Collegiate Baseball Association. Chesler helped his squad to a 6-0 triumph with an RBI double.
Chesler has done nothing but hit since arriving in Marion. As of July 6, he was hitting .397 with a .457 on base percentage. In the July 7 win over Fulton, Chesler hit a remarkable third grand slam of the summer. Along with the owning the team lead in home runs, Chesler has already set the club's single season record for homers with five.
Chesler's Millersville and Marion teammate Adam Boyd is hitting .279 with 11 stolen bases. Jeff Heisey, playing for the first place Tradewater Pirates, is also hitting .279.
