Box Score
Highlights

Lancaster, Pa. - Millersville senior Brooks Rothschild held Concord to one run in seven innings and the bullpen did the rest in a 3-1 victory that advanced the Marauders through the winners bracket of the NCAA Atlantic Regional at Clipper Magazine Stadium.

Rothschild, now 10-1, tied a school record for wins in a season with the gem. He scattered seven hits and three walks and struck out seven. Jason Long pitched a scoreless inning in the eighth, and Zach Eckley converted his ninth save of the year with a 1-2-3 ninth.

Concord (26-25) starter, Ryan Weatherholtz (8-5), kept his team in the game to the finish. He allowed 10 hits but no walks and struck out three in his complete game effort.

The Marauders (40-10) struck first with three runs in the third. Leadoff singles from Ryan Chesler and Jeff Heisey started the Millersville threat. Ryan McCormick sacrificed both runners into scoring position. Chris Edgar hit the first of two sacrifice flies to score the first run, and Derek Kline drove in Heisey with a single.

Concord's Kyle Webb cut Millersville's lead in half with a one swing of the bat. With two outs in the inning, Webb ripped a 1-0 pitch over the left-center field wall.

Rothschild kept the lead intact, and in the seventh, Heisey led off with a double and later scored on an Edgar sacrifice fly. The 3-1 lead was more than an enough for bullpen.

Kline, Stone, Edgar and Heisey all tallied two hits for Millersville. Josh Wenger and Ian Humphrey added two hits apiece for Concord.

Millersville advances to play the loser of the East Stroudsburg/Seton Hill game at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Concord plays Winston-Salem State in an elimination game at 11 a.m.
