Full Results

Millersville, Pa. – Millersville saw its men and women's track and field teams have three winners and 11 different athletes with PSAC-qualifying results over the weekend, proving the Millersville Metrics a successful home event for the teams.

The three Marauders to win were Elicia Anderson, Becky Novak and Zach Kohler. Anderson won her 3,000-meter race with a time of 9:48.60, which is also a qualifying time for the PSAC Championships. Novak, although not registering a qualifying time, won the 400-meter hurdles with a first-place finish of 1:09.14. Kohler took the overall win in the decathlon, which ended the two day event. The senior collected 5,856 points.

For the decathlon, Kohler placed first in the 110-meter hurdles with a 16.28-second finish. In the discus, he finished third with a toss of 29.75 meters. Kohler took second in the pole vault at 3.75 meters, third in the javelin with a 37.89-meter heave and seventh in the 1,500-meter run, clocking in at 5:15.29.

Two members of the women's team that qualified for the PSAC Championships in jumping events were Katherine Lennex and Whitney Savoy. Lennex had a second-place long jump of 5.28 meters and Savoy took third in the triple jump with a 10.62-meter leap. Lennex also tied her PSAC-qualifying time in the 100-meter dash, clocking a 12.97-second finish, the exact same time as her finish in the Shamrock Invitational.

Other than Anderson, there were three other distance runners who qualified for PSACs, two from the men's team and one from the women's team. Zach Mains qualified in the 10,000-meter run with a fourth-place time of 32:47.66. Sarah Mulvey and Connor Veres each had qualifying times in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Mulvey finished third with an 11:49.51, and while she had already sealed up a spot in the PSAC Championships, her Metrics time improved her season-best by nearly two full seconds. Veres' time of 10:17.80 was good for seventh place in the event.

Sprints and short distance runners had five PSAC-qualifying times, but all five were achieved by just three Marauders: Andrew Langston, Erin Mason and Abby Schneider. Langston's time of 22.79 seconds in the 200-meter dash notched him 11th place. Mason had qualifying times in the 100- and 200-meter dashes, as did Schneider. Mason had a 100-meter time of 13.04, which gave her 12th place and her 10th place time of 26.09 seconds improved her 200-meter event time, in which she already qualified. Schneider had a sixth-place 100-meter dash time of 12.78 and her time of 26.31 in the 200-meter dash gave her 13th place.

Finally, in the throwing events, Millersville had two hammer throws that would have qualified Kelli Farris and Justin Berg for the PSAC Championships had they not both already qualified. Farris had a third-place toss of 43.64 meters, setting a new season-best. Berg's 45.51-meter throw was good for seventh place, but was a meter shy of his season-best distance for the event.

The Metrics was the only home event of the season for the Marauder teams. Next weekend, the team will split its squad. Some athletes will compete in the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif. April 12-14, while the rest of the team will compete in the Mondschein Multis at Kutztown University on April 12-13.
