Complete List
Millersville, Pa. – Elicia Anderson is no stranger to hardware, so when the USTFCCCA released its All-Region honors Wednesday, it was no surprise that the Marauder senior was named for two more, one each in the 5,000-meter run and the 10,000-meter run.
The two awards give Anderson, a well-decorated senior, seven total All-Atlantic Region awards for her career. She won the same two during the last outdoor season. In addition, she has collected two All-Region awards in the 5,000-meter run during indoor competition and one more in the one-mile run during the 2010-11 indoor season.
The Wrightsville native will compete in both events on May 24-25 at the NCAA Championships in Pueblo, Colo. She won the 5,000-meter run at the PSAC Championships on May 4 with a time of 16:53.90, but her best time of the season came at the Raleigh Relays, where she clocked in at 16:44.93.
Although qualifying for the 10,000-meter run for the PSACs, Anderson bypassed the event to prepare for the National Championships. Her best time of the season in the 10K came at the Mt. SAC Relays with a run of 34:22.88 in Walnut, Calif. With a win in her first 10,000-meter run of the season in the Shamrock Invitational at Carson, S.C., she set a meet record with a time of 35:08.91.
The All-Region awards are given to the top five athletes in each event from each region. A total of 1,274 athletes received 1,854 USTFCCCA All-Region nods across the country. The USTFCCCA regions match those used for NCAA Cross Country Championships.
