
Johnson Named Capital One Academic All-District 2

Millersville, Pa. - Redshirt sophomore first baseman Dan Johnson was recognized for his breakout season on the diamond earlier in the week, and on Friday, he was honored for balancing athletics with academics. He was one of 11 players named Capital One Division II Academic All-District 2.
Capital One teams with College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) annually to honor the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletics and in the classroom. The all-district first team honorees will now be put on a national ballot for All-America consideration.
District 2 includes student-athletes from the PSAC, WVIAC and CIAA. Johnson, a mathematics major, owns a 3.83 cumulative GPA. Among players District 2 honorees, Johnson's GPA was second highest.
His on-field accomplishments are just as impressive. As a first-year starter, he was named All-PSAC East First Team. He led the Marauders in hitting during the regular season and is currently hitting .347 with a team-high 12 doubles. He also leads the team in slugging percentage (.483) and total bases (71). Johnson also committed just two errors in 184 chances.
Johnson is also a two-time PSAC Scholar-Athlete.
