
Henderson, Moatz, Shannon Named All-PSAC

2012 Alll-PSAC Lacrosse Teams
Lock Haven, Pa. – On Wednesday the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) announced its women's lacrosse All-PSAC teams. Three Marauders including Ashley Henderson, Caitlin Shannon and Katie Moatz were selected to the All-PSAC Third Team.
First year head coach, and former three-time All-PSAC Millersville lacrosse standout, Mia Hall improved Millersville offense attack with seven Marauders' in double-digit scoring totals and 79 more goals than in 2011. Sophomore Caitlin Shannon and junior Ashley Henderson led the attack as the first 40-plus goal scorers at Millersville since 2009.
Shannon, making her first All-PSAC squad, led the team with 45 goals and tied with Henderson for a team-leading 47 points. The sophomore attacker had just 21 goals and 24 points in her freshman season. Shannon scored a goal in each of the final 16 games of the season, including two game winners against Wilmington (Del.) and Mercy. Shannon also led the team with nine hat tricks including two five-goal games.
Henderson finished the season with a career-high 42 goals, while also collecting 47 points. Like Shannon, Henderson emerged in goals and points after scoring just 19 goals and earning just 29 points through her first two seasons. The junior midfielder netted seven hat tricks with two five-goal performances. Henderson collected a season-high six points on five goals and an assist against Colorado Mesa. Henderson led the team with 82 draw controls to rank her 12th in all of Division II.
Senior defender Katie Moatz finished her Marauder career with 61 straight starts, starting every game since joining the team in 2009 as a freshman. Moatz was second on the team this season with 29 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers. The team captain registered an assist in Millersville's 11-9 win over Kutztown and finished her career with eight points on three goals and five assists. The lone senior collected 124 ground balls and 57 caused turnovers in her career.
