Lock Haven, Pa. - For the fourth consecutive season, a Millersville pitcher has won the season's first PSAC East Pitcher of the Week Award. Junior right-hander
Brandon Miller scored the honor after posting a 2-0 record without allowing an earned run in his first two starts of 2016.
In starts against Winston-Salem State and Pitt-Johnstown, Miller posted a .103 batting average against (four hits allowed) over 11.2 innings, striking out 14 batters while walking just one. It is the first PSAC weekly award for Miller although he was the NCBWA Atlantic Region Pitcher of the Week on May 5, 2015.
Miller opened the season against Winston-Salem State, allowing just one hit and one walk while striking out nine in 6.2 innings. Miller Miller faced the minimum until the second batter of the seventh inning. His no-hit bid was broken up with a single. He followed that effort with 5.0 innings against Pitt-Johnstown in which he struck out five and allowed three hits.
Miller is averaging 1.25 strikeouts per inning, and in addition to his 0.00 ERA, he owns a WHIP of 0.43.
