Millersville, Pennsylvania - Totaling just 13 points in the first half, the Millersville women's basketball team fell at East Stroudsburg 82-53 Wednesday. The Marauders shot just 32 percent from the floor and gave up 28 points in the paint while getting shut out in fast break points. Millersville out-rebounded East Stroudsburg but committed a season-high 31 turnovers in the loss.
Alayah Hall led the team with 16 points and seven assists while senior
Aunjel Van Brakle finished her career with a double-double registering 10 points and 10 rebounds. Fellow senior
Courtney Hinnant scored seven and reeled in six boards in the loss. The Warriors had three players score in double figures led by Noelle Powell's 20 and Madison Tamburini's 14.
The first quarter was back and forth but Madison Tamburini hit a jumper to put the Warriors ahead by three going into the second. East Stroudsburg came out firing in the second, going on a 19-0 run to take a commanding 30-8 lead before Van Brakle broke the dry spell with a layup.Â
The Marauders had a better second half, but still got outscored by 10 in the third and the Warriors matched Millersville bucket for bucket in the fourth to coast to victory.Â
Millersville finishes the season 10-19 (7-15) in conference but managed to make the PSAC quarterfinals.
