Why did you choose Millersville?
I transferred to Millersville University after attending Seton Hill University for my freshman year of college. I decided to come to Millersville not only because they have a great business program but also so that I could continue my swimming career.
Why did you choose your major?
I am majoring in accounting because I love numbers and I love organizing, and that’s what accounting is organizing numbers. I just love the rush and satisfaction I get when my debts equal my credits.
What is your favorite memory as a Millersville student-athlete?
On of my favorite memories as a student-athlete at Millersville was our 2019 training trip to Florida. Being able to work hard at practice and then relax on the beach with my best friends was definitely memorable.
What is one piece of advice you would give to aspiring athletes?
One piece of advice I would give to aspiring athletes is to develop good time management skills and know what your priorities are. These are two different skills that you will need to be a successful student athlete.
What is one of your pregame rituals?
I actually have several pre-meet rituals. One that I have had since I was a young girl is to always paint my nails the night before a big meet. Having the mentally if you look good, you’ll do good really works for me.
What is one word you would use to describe being part of your team? Why?
One word I would use to describe being apart of the women’s swim team here at Millersville is resilience. As many people know, back in September our coach suddenly resigned on the 2nd day of the season. Many people thought our season was over but instead we stuck together, stayed motivated, and worked hard to reach our goals on our own.
What do you normally do on your off days, if you get any?
On my days off of swimming I usually have class or have to work one of my two internships. But, on the rare occasion I have some free time I love to hangout with my friends/teammates, go to the gym, and just relax and Law and Order:SVU marathons.
How has participating in athletics at Millersville impacted you?
Being a student athlete has impacted my life enormously. Not only has it helped me excel in the classroom, but the skills that I have gained have helped me grow as a person.
What is a typical day for you when you are in-season?
A typical day for the Millersville swim team is to wake up bright and early for 5:30am practice! We do our main practice in the morning and then will do a cardio and lift workout in the afternoons.
What is the best thing about being a student-athlete at Millersville?
The best thing about being a student athlete at Millersville is that you are able to create so many unique friendships with individuals not only from your team but different sports teams as well. Student athletes all have a special bond. We know that not only do we have to work hard in the class room but work hard at our two or more workouts everyday.
If you could have dinner with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?
If I could have dinner with anyone dead or alive it would be my gramps. He was a truly special person that I sadly never got the chance to say goodbye to.
What is your go-to karaoke song?
My go-to karaoke song is If I Ain't Got you by Alice Keys.
